About Yhamel
Since early childhood, Yhamel was attracted to the world of beauty and esthetics. As a young adult, she started her studies of fashion design in Buenos Aires, Argentina and continued her development in Santiago de Chile, where she ventured into the art of sewing, and eventually started her own clothing label and designs in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
Her professional life took an unexpected turn when she arrived in the USA in 2000. As a new immigrant, she started working in the heart of Washington D.C. at a beauty salon and was in charge of cleaning. She knew for sure that the position would be temporary while she continued to pursue a career in fashion, without knowing that one day the world of hair, color, and style would become her ultimate passion.
During her free time, instead of resting or leaving for lunch, she preferred to watch the hair stylists perform, and learn by asking questions about their secrets and techniques, and would then imitate their work. It was at this moment that she confirmed her passion for this career and promised herself that one day she would become one of the best stylists.
In 2006 Yhamel moved to Plano, Texas, where with her artistic vision and impeccable attention to detail, she specialized in the popular line of hair extensions by Great Lengths. After experimenting with many different products and styles she adopted the line of Schwarzkopf and continued her education with the renowned stylist Kim Vo.
She has worked in some of the most exclusive salons in the Dallas area where she acquired her experience from her mentors, tuned her skills, developed excellent work habits, and learned to focus attention to customer service. Yhamel is constantly working on her own innovative techniques to push the boundaries of hair and beauty, and that is leading her way of becoming a highly sought artist and stylist.
Yhamel is very proud of her Bolivian and Latin American roots and she is also thankful for the opportunities that the U.S. has offered her. She speaks fluent English and Spanish.
